Mission Statement and Aims
Dumisani Theological Institute and Bible School aims to:
1 provide high quality theological education and training, based on the Bible and the historical Reformed Confessions, for those who feel called to ministry in the Church of Jesus Christ;
2 provide Christian education and leadership training for elders, lay preachers and other Christian workers;
3 aid the growth of the South African Church through the provision of suitable Christian literature, Sunday School syllabi, and Bible Study by Correspondence.
Humble devotion and practical scholarship are characteristic features of Dumisani’s ethos. Although all subjects are taught from an evangelical and Reformed viewpoint, respectful interaction with other viewpoints is deemed essential.
The general aims of the learning process are:
1 that students should learn to study for themselves;
2 that they should be able to formulate their own conclusions on the basis of the Scriptures after prayerful scholarly study;
3 that they should be ready for service and able to apply the results of their studies humbly, effectively and meaningfully.
