PROGRAMMES OF STUDY
Dumisani offers:

· The Certificate of Christian Foundations (CCF)
· The Advanced Ministry Studies (AMS)
Dumisani facilitates:
· The North-West University Bachelor of Theology (BTh) degree through to end of 2019 under the current contractual agreement
The Certificate of Christian Foundations (CCF) is a non-accredited programme designed to equip students for service in the church and community. It requires one year full-time, or two years part-time study. The CCF consists of completing twelve courses, some as mandatory, and some as electives. These are the same courses available as Short Courses. (A separate one-page leaflet is available giving full details on the CCF.)
The Advanced Ministry Studies (AMS) is a non-accredited diploma-level programme designed primarily to further prepare students for pastoral and vocational ministry. It requires two years full-time or four years part-time study. It also may provide a bridge towards Bachelors-level theological studies. AMS students are required to complete sixteen core courses and four elective courses to make up a total of 20 courses.
The Bachelor of Theology (BTh) is a North-West University degree accredited by the Department of Higher Education and Training. Dumisani functions as a Learning Support Centre for the Faculty of Theology of the Potchefstroom Campus of North-West University and facilitates additional learning support for NWU distance students. The BTh is designed to equip students for a wide range of Church Ministry opportunities. This current contractual agreement will be concluded by the end of 2019.
*Dumisani is an affiliate member of the Association of Christian Religious Practitioners (ACRP) as of April 2019 and is active in this organization.
Please note:
(a) All CCF courses may also be taken as individual Short Courses.
(b) All classes and seminars held on campus are conducted in English and all written assignments, tests and examinations must be written in English.

ADMISSION TO STUDIES
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Application
The appropriate Application Form must be completed by all candidates for CCF and AMS programmes. Application Forms may be obtained from the Offices of Dumisani Theological Institute & Bible School or downloaded from the Dumisani website, under FORMS
Applications for the Certificate of Christian Foundations will normally only be considered from holders of a Senior Leaving Certificate (Grade 12) but exemptions may be made on the grounds of recognition of prior (experiential) learning.
Applications for Advanced Ministry Studies
· AMS applicants will normally only be considered from those who are able to demonstrate a basic knowledge of the whole field of Christian studies and the ability to conduct such study
· AMS applicants will normally have, a 60% average in our CCF (the academic subjects) or similar basic studies from another institution at the same average or above
· AMS applicants must have an interview
· AMS applicants must have a Church Certificate
· AMS applicants must have two Referee forms completed
· AMS applicants must furnish the following supporting documents:

Other higher education certificates,
Passport photos – three
The AMS Interview: This interview will deal with practical matters, the applicant’s academic standing, English proficiency and spiritual experience. All applicants must be able to demonstrate reasonable competence in written and spoken English. The right of admission to study at Dumisani Theological Institute is finally reserved by the Principal and the teaching staff, under the supervision of the Governing Board.
It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that their church or denomination agrees to their studying at Dumisani and that the courses which are offered by Dumisani are acceptable to their church.
Fees as of January 2019
Registration
New students should register when their application is accepted. Continuing students should register as soon as possible after receiving results of their current studies and, in any case, not later than the specified date contained in the current prospectus.
Orientation
A programme of orientation for new and continuing students takes place prior to the commencement of classes.
